The Government Media Office in Gaza has released a statement saying Israeli forces have launched 230 air attacks on Gaza since Saturday, killing at least 118 people.
The dead included women and children, and 72 people in besieged Gaza City alone.
“The Israeli occupation continues its brutal aggression against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, ignoring the calls for a ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump, and the positive response offered to the proposal,” the office said in a statement on Telegram.
Trump urged Israel to “immediately stop bombing Gaza” on Saturday morning, saying Hamas is “ready for a lasting peace” after the Palestinian group responded to his proposal to end the war.
