Nephew killed after exposed extramarital affair in Phulpur

Phulpur correspondent: A young man named Iqbal Hossain (27), son of Babul Mia, was killed in Raghurampur village of Bhaitkandi union in Phulpur upazila of Mymensingh for protesting the extramarital affair. The incident took place at around 9 pm on Saturday in Raghurampur village of the upazila.

Locally, it is known that Saddam Hossain (30), son of Shafiqul Islam Safi of Raghurampur village, was having an extramarital affair with his cousin`s wife Sufla Khatun. Saddam Hossain`s nephew Iqbal Hossain, who recently saw them in an objectionable state, protested the incident strongly. Saddam Hossain got angry and attacked Iqbal with a sharp weapon at 9:00 pm on Saturday, seriously injuring Iqbal. When the injured Iqbal Hossain was taken to Phulpur Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead. The deceased`s brother was seriously injured in the same incident and is admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Shefali Akhter, the mother of Iqbal Hossain, who was killed in the incident, has filed a murder case with Phulpur Police Station, making Saddam Hossain the main accused.

Phulpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Hadi said that the body of the deceased has been sent to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case is being processed at the police station in the incident.
