Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur: A mobile court in Phulpurupazila of Mymensingh has fined three businesses a total of Tk 13,000 for various violations, including obstructing roads, selling cylinder gas without approval and serving substandard food.
The drive was conducted on Monday (July 27) in the bus stand area of Phulpur Municipality under the leadership of Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of Phulpur.
During the operation, Makka Store was fined Tk 5,000 and Sabil Machineries Tk 3,000 for selling cylinder gas without the required approval while creating obstructions on the road.
Meanwhile, Al Saudia Hotel was fined Tk 5,000 for serving food that did not meet the required standards.
The mobile court imposed a total of Tk 13,000 in fines on the three establishments.
Phulpur Police Station provided necessary assistance to the mobile court during the operation.
The upazila administration said such drives would continue in the public interest to ensure consumer rights, maintain discipline on roads and ensure food safety.
