Dhaka: MASTUL Foundation is conducting emergency relief operations in the flood-affected areas of Chattogram. The Foundation’s Emergency Response Team has been working around the clock over the past several days, delivering essential assistance to communities facing severe challenges due to the floods. Relief support is being provided to affected families in different flood-hit areas and shelter centres, including freshly cooked meals, rice, lentils, dry food, essential daily necessities, safe drinking water, and necessary medicines. To observe the ongoing relief activities and stand beside the affected communities, Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury visited the flood-affected areas and shelter centres. During the visit, he joined MASTUL Foundation’s volunteers in distributing relief assistance and personally handed over essential supplies to affected families. Kazi Reaz Rahman, Founder and Executive Director of MASTUL Foundation, said, “All our efforts are dedicated to seeking the pleasure of Almighty Allah. Since the beginning of this disaster, our volunteers have been working tirelessly to ensure that immediate support reaches the affected people. Alongside emergency food, safe drinking water, and medical assistance, we have also initiated long-term rehabilitation programmes so that affected families can rebuild their lives and return to normalcy.” Farhana Yeasmeen, Chief Operating Officer of MASTUL Foundation, said that the Foundation is planning comprehensive rehabilitation initiatives for families who have lost their homes or whose houses have been severely damaged by the floods. These initiatives include repairing damaged houses, constructing new homes where required, and providing necessary support for livelihood recovery to help affected families become self-reliant. She further added that MASTUL Foundation’s emergency relief and rehabilitation activities will continue until the situation improves. She called upon individuals, organizations, and people from all sections of society to come forward and support the flood-affected communities during this difficult time. MASTUL Foundation is a non-profit, non-political humanitarian organization registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau under the Prime Minister’s Office of Bangladesh. For over a decade, it has been serving underprivileged people through humanitarian and development initiatives. Its key activities include emergency relief during the floods of 2022, 2024, and 2026, dignified burial services during the COVID-19 pandemic, nationwide tree plantation campaigns, the “Zakat Self-Reliance” project, tube well installation, mosque reconstruction, and the “Mehmankhana” initiative, which provides free daily meals in Dhaka. The Foundation has also delivered humanitarian aid to Türkiye, Gaza, and Sudan, and operates a madrasa, shelter home, and orphanage in Hazaribagh, Dhaka.
