International : On the occasion of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), China Media Group’s CGTN recently conducted a survey among netizens worldwide. In the survey, 89.6 percent of respondents said the fair represents another manifestation of China’s opening-up and serves as an important platform for advancing high-level opening-up in trade in services.
For the first time, this year’s fair has established a “Chinese Services” exhibition area, showcasing the latest achievements in various fields, including digital services, cultural services and modern logistics. In this regard, 93.8 percent of respondents said the fair is not merely an exhibition platform, but also an important commercial platform for advancing the high-level opening-up of China’s vast market.
Nearly 40 percent of the projects displayed in the “Chinese Services” exhibition area use AI, large models and intelligent agents as core technologies. A number of new technologies and products are being unveiled for the first time globally and in China. Some 90.3 percent of respondents believe that the application of technology in China’s trade in services is growing rapidly.
In recent years, China has made significant progress in the high-quality development of its trade in services. China’s imports of trade in services have ranked second in the world for several consecutive years. In 2025, the value of its imports exceeded 620 billion U.S. dollars. In the first half of 2026, the growth rate of transportation service imports ranked first in the world, while exports of knowledge-intensive services exceeded 800 billion yuan. In the survey, 90.6 percent of respondents said these figures demonstrate the resilience and vitality of China’s trade in services.
This year’s fair has attracted 90 countries and international organizations to participate in exhibitions and various activities, while more than 1,800 enterprises have participated offline. Some 81.8 percent of respondents said the fair would help their countries’ enterprises establish trade-in-services cooperation with China. Meanwhile, 88.5 percent believe the fair will help more foreign enterprises enter China’s trade-in-services market.
The survey was conducted on CGTN’s English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian-language platforms. Within 24 hours, a total of 2,406 netizens participated and expressed their views.
