International, September 23 : Ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the United States, China Global Television Network (CGTN), under China Media Group (CMG), recently conducted a global online survey.

According to the survey, 75 percent of participants believe that stable China-US relations are extremely important to the international community. The same view was shared by 78.3 percent of respondents from developing countries and 76.7 percent of respondents from the United States.

The survey results indicate that people around the world expect China and the United States to resolve their differences through direct communication and enhance mutual trust, while believing that sound relations between the two countries would play a positive role in maintaining global peace and stability.

A total of 78.6 percent of survey participants believe that China and the United States should strengthen dialogue on the basis of mutual respect. Among US respondents, 78.3 percent agreed with this view, while support stood at 85 percent among Republican respondents.

Some 67.9 percent of respondents believe that China and the United States can achieve mutually beneficial outcomes that serve the interests of both sides, while 74.6 percent believe that mutual benefit is the fundamental basis of China-US trade.

In fact, people in developing countries expect stable relations between China and the United States. Most countries do not want to take sides between China and the United States. A constructive and strategically stable relationship between China and the United States is a key force capable of influencing global peace, stability, development, cooperation and governance.
