Moin Mahmood: World Post Day will be observed in the country on October 9 with the theme "Integrated Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities." To mark the occasion, the Bangladesh Postal Department will observe "Postal Service Week" nationwide from October 9 to 15. During this period, letter-writing festivals, philatelic exhibitions, and fairs focused on postal services will be held at various universities across the country.
A press conference was organized today at the Postal Department`s conference room in Agargaon to mark the occasion. Kazi Asadul Islam, Director General of the Department of Posts, delivered the keynote address.
He stated: World Post Day is being observed at a time when the Bangladesh Postal Department is implementing various initiatives to transform itself into an institution providing modern, technology-driven, and people-friendly postal and logistics services, alongside its traditional postal operations.
The primary objective of World Post Day is to raise public awareness regarding the postal system`s contribution to daily life, commerce, and socio-economic development. Aligned with the government`s election pledges and its announced 180-day action plan—and upholding the theme "Integrated Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities"—the Bangladesh Postal Department is working to deliver fast, affordable, reliable, and multifaceted postal and logistics services to the people`s doorsteps, including through franchise post offices.
