An important article by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Chinese President, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, titled "Advancing Full and Rigorous Party Self-Governance with Higher Standards and More Effective Measures," will be published on Friday (October 16) in the 20th issue of the Qiushi Journal.
The article emphasizes that the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030) represents a pivotal timeframe for consolidating the foundation and driving comprehensive progress toward basically achieving socialist modernization. To translate the strategic deployments adopted at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee into reality, upholding and strengthening the Party`s overall leadership and consistently advancing full and rigorous self-governance remain imperative.
The article points out that major decisions and plans formulated by the CPC Central Committee must be implemented with greater resolve. Faithfully executing these decisions and arrangements serves as a fundamental prerequisite for safeguarding the authority of the Central Committee and upholding its centralized, unified leadership.
It further underscores that institutional mechanisms governing the exercise of power must be rendered more scientific and effective. To this end, institutional systems and regulations must be continuously consolidated, while execution capacity must be reinforced to ensure effective oversight.
The article also highlights the need to wage the anti-corruption battle with heightened consciousness and unwavering determination. It notes that since the 18th CPC National Congress, under the centralized and unified leadership of the Central Committee, China has carved out an anti-corruption path with distinct Chinese characteristics.
Furthermore, the article stresses the importance of deploying synchronized initiatives, aligning concerted efforts toward unified objectives, and executing coordinated, practical measures across all anti-corruption work. Cross-departmental coordination must be deepened in planning strategies, allocating resources, and advancing operational tasks. Concurrently, by integrating various oversight mechanisms and fostering full-process collaborative synergy, the overall capability to prevent and curb corruption must be systematically elevated.
