Kashmiris to observe October 27 as Black Day, illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India
  Date : 26-10-2026

Special Correspondent: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will observe October 27 as Black Day to invite the attention of the world towards the impending catastrophe due to continued illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India.

It was on 27th October in 1947 when Indian troops invaded Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it in total violation of the Partition Plan of the subcontinent and against the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar urged the people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Azad Kashmir and around the world to observe Black Day on Tuesday to sensitize the world about the urgency to resolve the Kashmir dispute to avert an untoward situation that may have disastrous impact on global peace.

He also appealed for a complete shutdown in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other parties have called upon the international community to wake up from deep slumber and take practical steps to hold a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir as per the UN Security Council resolutions to enable Kashmiris to exercise their right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, posters appeared in Srinagar and other parts of occupied Kashmir, urging people to observe Black Day on Tuesday against the illegal occupation of their motherland by Indian military forces. The posters described 27th October 1947 as the darkest chapter in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. The posters have also been shared on social media platforms including X, Facebook and WhatsApp.

APHC said that India created hurdles in the implementation of the plebiscite by refusing to withdraw its troops from the occupied territory.
