Dr. Bablu Urges All to Embrace Zia’s Ideals and Work for the Welfare of the Nation

Staff Reporter: Dr. Khondaker Akbar Hossain Bablu — son of the late BNP Secretary General Advocate Khondaker Delwar Hossain, former vice-president of the Manikganj district BNP, member of the district convening committee, and BNP nomination aspirant for Manikganj-1 constituency — has called upon party leaders, activists, and citizens to dedicate themselves to the welfare of the country by upholding the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

He made this call while addressing a campaign meeting organized by the Kholsi Union BNP and its affiliated wings after a leaflet distribution and public outreach event held on Friday (October 31) afternoon at Kholsi Madhya Bazar under Daulatpur upazila in Manikganj. The campaign was part of BNP’s nationwide initiative to promote the 31-point reform plan for restructuring the state, as announced by the party’s acting chairman, Deshnayak Tarique Rahman.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan, Senior Vice-President of Kholsi Union BNP. Among others present were Advocate Mohammad Nurul Islam Kuntu, member of the district convening committee and organizational secretary of Daulatpur BNP; Shafiul Alam Biltu, senior joint secretary of Daulatpur BNP; Aminul Islam, joint general secretary; Kazi Abdur Razzak, vice-president of Shibaloy BNP; Ziaur Rahman, chairman of Kholsi Union Parishad; Enamul Haque, president of the District Zia Projonmo Dal; Abu Kalam and Liton Hossain Mohuri, members of the District Krishak Dal; Sergeant Shaheen, organizing secretary of Daulatpur Krishak Dal; Shahidul Islam Chandu, vice-president of Ghior Krishak Dal; Md. Ayub Ali, general secretary of Chakmirpur BNP; Kamrul Hasan Bachchu, former president of Baghutia Youth Dal; Advocate Jasim, leader of Dhamshar BNP; Shafiqul Islam Shafik and Masudur Rahman, leaders of Kholsi BNP; along with local BNP leaders, activists, and residents.

In his address, Dr. Bablu said, “Safeguarding national sovereignty, ensuring people’s fundamental rights, and strengthening the organization under Tarique Rahman’s leadership are now the core goals of the BNP. Through the implementation of the 31-point agenda, we can truly rebuild the state structure and fulfill our national commitment.”

He further emphasized unity among party members, saying, “We must work together for the greater interest of the party. No matter who receives the nomination, every activist must remain united to ensure the victory of the paddy sheaf. We must set aside divisions and disputes — BNP is the party of the people, and our greatest strength lies in unity, not discord.”

Dr. Bablu observed that in the face of current political instability, the denial of voting rights, and the growing demand for democratic restoration, the BNP’s “31-Point State Reform Plan” has inspired renewed enthusiasm among party members and the public alike.

According to political analysts, the reform plan is not just a political manifesto but a comprehensive blueprint for administrative and democratic transformation. It includes commitments to restoring parliamentary democracy, ensuring judicial independence, reforming the electoral system, establishing decentralized governance, and guaranteeing good governance, agricultural development, education, healthcare, employment, and human rights.

Analysts note that these reforms reflect the long-standing aspirations of the people for a just and accountable state, where citizens are the true owners of sovereignty. At a time when the nation faces a crisis of voting rights, economic disparity, and corruption, the 31-point agenda has rekindled public optimism for a fair and inclusive political order.

BNP leadership believes that only by adhering to the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman — “Politics is for the welfare of the people” — can Tarique Rahman’s 31-point reform vision be realized. If implemented, the plan promises to establish justice, transparency, and accountability at every level of the state, paving the way for political stability and sustainable economic progress.

The meeting concluded with prayers for the good health and long life of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, and for the well-being of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, along with the prosperity of Bangladesh.
