  Mahmudul Hasan appointed as DSCC administrator

 

Md Mahmudul Hasan, Director General of the Monitoring, Inspection, and Evaluation Wing of the Ministry of Local Government, has been appointed as the administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

The appointment order was issued on Monday (November 3) through a gazette notification signed by Mahbuba Airin, Joint Secretary of the City Corporation-1 section of the Ministry of Local Government.

According to the notification, the newly appointed administrator will exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation under Subsection (3) of Section 25 Ka of the Local Government (City Corporation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024. He will carry out these responsibilities in addition to his current duties and will receive the applicable allowances as per regulations.

Earlier, on October 29, the Ministry of Local Government removed the previous DSCC administrator, Md Shahjahan Mia. The reasons for his removal have not been disclosed.
