Kamrul Hasan: The visionary leadership of BNP’s Acting Chairman and National Leader Tarique Rahman is the foundation for building a prosperous future for Bangladesh — commented former Organizing Secretary of Manikganj District BNP and member of the district BNP convening committee, Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Habu.
He made the remarks on Saturday evening (October 25) at a campaign meeting organized by Ward No. 4 BNP and its affiliated bodies at Hijuli Kachari Field in Manikganj Municipality. The event was held as part of a promotional campaign for Tarique Rahman’s 31-point National Structural Reform Program, on behalf of Afroza Khanom Rita, Advisor to the BNP Chairperson and Convener of the Manikganj District BNP.
After distributing leaflets and engaging in a mass communication campaign, Habu Bhuiyan addressed local leaders, activists, supporters, and residents as the chief guest of the event.
The meeting was presided over by Ward BNP President Md. Zohirul Islam.
Among others present were former Senior Vice President of District Jubo Dal Rustam Uddin Bhuiyan Babu, former Vice President of District Jubo Dal and General Secretary of Lions Club International (Manikganj Branch) Kabirul Islam Kabir, Saifuddin Ahmed Saif, General Secretary of District Jewelers Association Mohidul Islam, Ward BNP Vice Presidents Sirajul Islam, Abdus Salam, Shahidul Islam, Treasurer Abdus Sattar, Jubo Dal leaders Selim Mia and Saiful Islam, Volunteer Dal leader Mobarak Hossain, and other BNP and affiliate organization leaders.
The gathering was also attended by a large number of local residents, including men, women, and dignitaries — numbering over a thousand people.
Habu Bhuiyan said,
“For the last 17 years, the people have been victims of oppression and persecution. False cases, enforced disappearances, killings, and state-sponsored repression left the nation in despair. In that dark period, it was Tarique Rahman’s prudence, foresight, and leadership that freed the country from fascism. Today, people have learned to dream again.”
He further stated,
“The past fascist regime looted national wealth in the name of development and spread fear among peace-loving citizens through fabricated cases against BNP leaders and activists. Even in that adversity, the July Movement under Tarique Rahman’s leadership has created a historic chapter in the nation’s political history.”
Calling the 31-point reform plan announced by Tarique Rahman the “Blueprint for a New Bangladesh,” Habu said,
“These 31 points lay the foundation for political, economic, and social reform. Through their implementation, the Bangladesh envisioned by President Ziaur Rahman will be realized.”
He continued,“The interim government has already announced a roadmap for national elections in the first half of February 2026. Yet, a certain group is engaged in conspiracies to derail the democratic process. They do not wish well for the country or the people; rather, they are spreading rumors and propaganda to tarnish the image of the BNP. Therefore, it is time to build a united public opinion.”
Emphasizing that the BNP believes in development, not conspiracy, Habu Bhuiyan said, “When the symbol of freedom, Sheaf of Paddy, wins, a people’s government will be established. Under the leadership of National Leader Tarique Rahman as Prime Minister, the long-awaited development aspirations of the people will finally be fulfilled.”
Referring to Manikganj as a stronghold of the BNP, he added, “There is no alternative to Tarique Rahman in transforming this district into a modern, developed, and prosperous one. Tarique Rahman symbolizes the dawn of a new era of development, democracy, and freedom — he is truly the Symbol of National Reawakening.”
At the end of his speech, he offered prayers for the good health of Begum Khaleda Zia, the long life of Tarique Rahman, and the overall welfare of the country.
