  Date : 18-11-2025

The house of former President Md Abdul Hamid in Kishoreganj`s Mithamain has been attacked and vandalised.

The incident occurred between 10PM and 11:30PM on Monday.

According to local sources, the Mithamain upazila BNP brought out a joyous procession after the judgement of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Party leaders and activists joined the procession. As the procession moved from Mithamain Bazar towards Kamalpur village, a group of 20–25 people suddenly attacked the former president’s house. They broke the door, entered the house, and vandalised windows, chairs, furniture and other belongings.

But no family members were present at the house at that time.

Mithamain police station OC Alamgir Kabir confirmed the information, saying that the attack incident occurred after the BNP`s joyous procession.

Police and Army personnel were deployed at the scene and the situation was brought under control, he added.
