Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof ASM Maksud Kamal has resigned.

He submitted his resignation letter to the Ministry of Education on Saturday (August 10).

Besides, provosts of seven halls --- Rokeya Hall, Shamsun Nahar Hall, Bijoy Ekattor Hall, Bangabandhu Hall, Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall, Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall and Salimullah Muslim Hall --submitted their resignation letters.

Earlier on Friday, a group of students of Dhaka University staged demonstration to press home their two-point demand, including resignation of the vice-chancellor (administration and education), proctor, assistant proctor, treasurer, all provosts and all senate and syndicate members along with Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal.
