  Date : 19-07-2025

Faruk Ahmed, Magura: Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service Jahangir Ahmed is coming to Magura from Barguna district and Deputy Director of Magura Fire Service Ali Sajjad has been transferred to Barguna district.

With the aim of improving administrative mobility and office management, the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department has reshuffled the posts of Deputy Assistant Directors in the Fire Service of Magura and Barguna districts. This order was issued in a notification signed by the Director General of the Department, Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, ndc, AFWC, psc, on July 17.

According to the notification, Deputy Assistant Director Md. Ali Sajjad, who was in charge of Magura, has been transferred to Barguna. Jahangir Ahmed is joining Magura from Barguna in his place.

Sources say that the reason behind this reshuffle is irregularities at the field level, lack of discipline in station management and multiple complaints from employees.

Ali Sajjad, who has been working in Magura for a long time, has been accused of various things. Local sources say that there were allegations against him such as official irregularities, issuing licenses through nepotism and approving fake bills. Although he has never spoken publicly about these issues.

On the other hand, there are positive expectations surrounding Jahangir Ahmed, who has been given the new responsibility. An official of Magura Fire Service said, "Jahangir sir is an experienced officer. His commitment to work is unquestionable. I hope new momentum will begin in Magura."

The notification said that this order issued in the public interest will come into effect immediately and the concerned officials will get all government benefits as per the rules.

Meanwhile, the divisional and local offices of the Fire Service have been directed to take necessary measures in this transfer order.

The conscious community expects that this initiative of reshuffle will further increase transparency and accountability in the local administration of the Fire Service. Earlier, several national and regional newspapers including The Muslim Times published news on July 16 regarding the Magura Fire Service.
