The next five or six days are very important for the interim government, Chief Adviser`s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said on Thursday.

He made the remarks while speaking at a views-exchange meeting with the Secretariat Reporters Forum (SRF) at the Bangladesh Secretariat in the afternoon.

The Press Secretary said the election will certainly be held in February and there is no possibility of deferring it.

Shafiqul said, “Dr. Yunus initially mentioned early April. Later, in London, we said that if substantial reforms are implemented and progress is made, the timeline could be moved up to February. That still stands. It won’t be delayed by even a single day.”
