BSS) - Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and Youth and Sports Ministry Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has said the Interim Government has been working to ensure a better future of the country`s youths.

"For this purpose, the Entrepreneurship Development Policy has been formulated alongside updating the Youth Loan Policy," he said yesterday afternoon, addressing a programme at the Zila Parishad Auditorium in the district following inauguration of 13 mini stadiums including Natore Sadar Upazila Mini Stadium in 10 districts on the virtual platform.

The adviser said that the July Mass Uprising took place under the leadership of the youth.

"So, we have taken initiatives to eliminate unemployment and create employment opportunities for the youth for which technology-based, updated and effective training has been arranged," he said.

The youths will be imparted training on world-class AI (artificial intelligence) technology, he said.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports is working in coordination with the BIDA and ICT Ministry to provide support to the entrepreneurs to build an ecosystem, he said, adding that a task force committee has been formed in this connection.

Asif Mahmud said that so far about 150 upazila mini stadiums have been inaugurated across the country while construction of rest of the mini stadiums will be completed in phases.

The adviser said that the decentralization policy is being implemented in sports.

He has stressed the need for maintaining the stadiums as these should be functional throughout the year through various sports activities.

In this regard, everyone including sports organizations must play their due role.

"It is possible to bring development and success to the country`s sports grounds with the coordinated efforts of everyone," he said.

The Natore Sadar Upazila mini stadium has a three-story pavilion building and three general galleries with separate toilets for men and women.

The event, chaired by Natore Deputy Commissioner Asma Shaheen, and was attended by, among others, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam, Secretary of the Local Government Division, Md. Rezaul Maksud Jahedi and Secretary of the National Sports Council Md. Aminul Islam, among others, were present.
