A tiger from the forest entered a village near South Ketranga Border in Parshuram upazila of Feni on Thursday evening, causing severe panic among locals.
Locals said the tiger crossed the barbed-wire fence around 6 PM and roamed in the area searching for food for about one and a half hours before going back to the forest after sunset.
Some locals suspect there may be more tigers nearby.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) confirmed the tiger was seen near border pillar 2173/S of BO, and though it caused no damage, locals were asked to remain cautious while farming.
Lt. Col. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, commander of 4 BGB Battalion in Feni, said that patrols had been intensified and the Indian BSF had been informed about the incident.
