   Country Wide
Awareness Must Be Raised to Conserve “Mother Hilsa” — S.A. Jinnah Kabir
  Date : 30-09-2025

Kamrul Hasan: Meeting the country’s demand for adequate protein and protecting fishery resources is a moral responsibility of every citizen. Therefore, S.A. Jinnah Kabir, member of BNP’s Central Executive Committee, former General Secretary of Manikganj District BNP, senior member of the District BNP Organizing Committee, and leader of Dhanshish in Manikganj-1, has urged the public to increase awareness for the implementation of the “Mother Hilsa Conservation Act 2025.”

On Sunday afternoon, at the Anwaypur School Ground in Shibaloy, Manikganj, S.A. Jinnah Kabir spoke at a public awareness meeting organized by the Upazila Fisheries Office under the Hilsa Resource Development and Management Project for the 2025-26 fiscal year, as part of the “Mother Hilsa Conservation Campaign 2025” (from October 4 to October 25). Party leaders, supporters, local residents, and socially conscious individuals attended the event.

The meeting was presided over by Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Sathi Rani Niyogi. Also present were Upazila Executive Officer Md. Belal Hossain, District Jubo Dal convener Kazi Mostak Hossain Dip, officers and staff of the relevant departments, and prominent leaders of BNP and its allied organizations.

Speaking at the event, S.A. Jinnah Kabir said, “Hilsa is a national asset. Residents of riverine Manikganj in the Padma-Jamuna basin must play an active role in protecting this resource. Proper conservation will not only meet the domestic demand for Hilsa but also enable its export, strengthening the country’s economic structure.”

He further stated, “Sheikh President Ziaur Rahman played a rare and historic role in securing fundamental rights in the country. His worthy successor, BNP’s Acting Chairman Desh Nayak Tarique Rahman, has also announced 31-point reforms to protect independence, the Constitution, and democracy, which will help establish citizens’ fundamental rights. Everyone must take a leading role in continuing this legacy, making the realization of Ziaur Rahman’s dream of Bangladesh possible.”

He noted, “The caretaker government has announced a roadmap for the national elections in early February. However, some anti-independence groups are attempting to sabotage the elections, destroy state resources, and commit various acts of disruption. These forces are enemies of the nation, and their actions can never serve the country’s welfare. All socially conscious citizens must act decisively to resist them.”

He also emphasized, “To strengthen the organizational structure and implement the 31-point state reform plan announced by Desh Nayak Tarique Rahman, the victory of the Dhanshish symbol must be ensured in every constituency of Manikganj, which is known as a BNP stronghold.”

S.A. Jinnah Kabir expressed gratitude to all attendees and requested prayers for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and for the good health and longevity of Desh Nayak Tarique Rahman.
