Youth killed in Faridpur lightning strike

A youth died after being hit by lightning while playing football at Sadar upazila in Faridpur district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Ruhul Amin, 27, son of late Moni Pramanik of Chunaghata area in the city.

According to locals, Ruhul was struck by lightning while playing football in Huzurbari field under Faridpur municipality and sustained serious injury.


Later, locals rushed him to Faridpur General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Kotowali Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Asaduzzaman confirmed the incident and said that an unnatural death case has been filed.
