CUCSU elections underway

The Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) and hall and hostel unions elections began on Wednesday morning.

The authorities are holding the long-awaited elections at Chittagong University (CU) after 35-year. Polling will continue till 5PM. A total of 27,516 students can cast their ballots in the polls.

The polling centres are set up in five faculty buildings, with 689 booths arranged in 60 rooms.

Students were seen queuing at the Faculty of Social Sciences polling cente from the morning.

Chief Election Commissioner Prof Monir said CUCSU ballot papers will have four pages, while hall ballots will have one. Voters will fill in the circle beside their preferred candidate’s name and number.
