SUCSU election deferred, voting on Jan 20

The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) administration has deferred the central students` union (SUCSU) and hall union elections, initially scheduled for December 17.

Now the voting will take place on January 20, a notice signed by Registrar Syed Salim Mohammad Abdul Quadir stated on Sunday afternoon, November 23.

Earlier, a meeting was held between the university administration and student representatives from 11:00 am to 2:45 pm in the conference room of Administration Building-1 about the date fixation of the polls.

After the meeting, it was unanimously decided to hold the polls on January 20.

The Election Commission will announce a reschedule for the elections on Monday evening, November 24, said the Commission`s spokesperson, prof Dr Nazrul Islam.
