Ishtiaque Sadeque resigns as BCB director
  Date : 24-01-2026

Ishtiaque Sadeque has resigned from his position as a director of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), the board confirmed on Saturday.

Sadeque, who also served as chairman of BCB’s Game Development Committee, submitted his resignation to the governing body, citing family and personal commitments as the reason for stepping down.

In a statement, he said, “It is true that I am resigning. I feel that I am unable to dedicate the time and effort required for a large community like game development due to family and personal commitments. I cannot provide the effort necessary to accelerate game development and for this reason, I regret that I am unable to do justice to this position. That is why I am resigning.”

He also clarified that his decision was not due to any disagreements or grievances with other board members.

“The claim that I am leaving because of misunderstandings, relationship issues or hurt feelings is completely false. Everyone on the board tried their best in their own way,” Sadeque added.

The outgoing director extended his best wishes to his successor, saying, “They have my full support. Even though I will no longer be on the board, I will continue to support the committee fully. Thank you very much.”

Sadeque was elected as a BCB director in the board polls held last October.
