Four ships carrying 1.38 lakh tonnes of fuel oil at Ctg port

Four ships carrying 138,000 tonnes of refined fuel oil reached Chittagong Port on Friday, April 17.

Seeking anonymity, a higher official of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) confirmed the matter to News.

According to the BPC, three vessels – the Portuguese-flagged `MT CAPE BONNY` carrying 33,398 tonnes of diesel, the Cayman Islands-flagged `MT NAVE CIELO` carrying 27,363 tonnes of octane, and the Chinese-flagged `MT LIAN SONG HU` carrying 41,907 tonnes of diesel – are all at the port`s Alpha Anchorage.

The consignments of fuel oil arrived in Bangladesh at a time when the country is struggling to address persistent domestic energy shortages.
