More rains, thunderstorms likely; signal 3 remains for ports

More rains with lightning flashes accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds are likely in parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka, in 24 hours from 9AM on Wednesday.

According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and at a few places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions.

Moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at some places in Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, the forecast added.

BMD advised the seaports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra Port to hoist the signal no 3.
