Gold prices in the country have fallen by Tk 2,216 per bhori within 24 hours, bringing the price of 22-carat gold down amid a fresh revision in the local market, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).

Following the latest adjustment the price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk 242,495 per bhori (11.664 grams).

The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring and was later confirmed in an official notice signed by committee chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.
