MM Rahmatullah: Dhaka — Bangladesh and China held high-level talks on Wednesday aimed at further expanding bilateral trade and investment cooperation. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, Dhaka.

The discussion was held when Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Humayun Kabir, Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister, according to a press release.

Both sides reviewed various aspects of the existing bilateral relationship and exchanged views in detail on ways to deepen cooperation, particularly in the economic and commercial sectors. Emphasis was placed on increasing investment, expanding mutual trade, and enhancing participation in joint development projects.

Tanvir Goni, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Investment and Capital Markets, and Song Yang, Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy, were also present at the meeting.

Observers believe the talks will further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries and open new avenues for broader economic cooperation in the future.
