Asaduzzaman urges opportunities for skilled young lawyers to apply their expertise
  Date : 10-05-2026

(BSS) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman today called for creating opportunities for skilled young

lawyers to apply their expertise in the Supreme Court.

"Skilled and talented young lawyers must be given opportunities to apply their professional expertise in the Supreme Court. Many newly enrolled
barristers are highly competent, but due to the complexities of the Bar Council enrolment examination system, many talented law graduates are leaving
the legal profession for corporate jobs," he said.

The minister said this while addressing as the chief guest at a programme titled "Transformation of Legal Practice Through Emerging Technologies and
AI", organised by barristers and corporate lawyers at Dhaka Club this evening.

"The existing Bar Council enrolment examination system is complex for those returning to the country with English-medium law degrees from abroad, as the
questions are set in Bangla, and therefore the system needs reform," he added.

The Law Minister said that lawyers will be provided training to enhance their legal skills, enabling them to achieve their desired professional goals.

Emphasising increased budget allocation for the judiciary, the Law Minister said that the courts generate over Taka 15,000 crore annually from various
court fees and stamp sales, while the entire judiciary receives only about Taka 2,200 crore in allocation, which should be increased.

Attorney General Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal, senior advocates Zainul Abedin, Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, and State Minister for Social Welfare
Farzana Sharmin were present at the function, among others.
