International Desk: International experts have described the recently concluded meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump in Beijing as “significant” and “positive for global peace and development.”
According to analysts and observers, the decision to define a “constructive strategic and stable China–U.S. relationship” as the new framework for bilateral ties carries major importance. They believe such a relationship could play a positive role in promoting global peace, stability and sustainable development.
Khin Maung Yi, Joint Secretary-General of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies, said that a “constructive strategic and stable China–U.S. relationship” is critically important, with mutual trust serving as its core foundation. He noted that healthy ties between China and the United States are not only beneficial for the two countries themselves, but also for the wider international community. According to him, stronger bilateral relations could help ease tensions, reduce conflicts and accelerate global economic growth.
Bojan Lalic, Director of the Belt and Road Institute in Belgrade, Serbia, stated that a stable and constructive China–U.S. relationship would bring greater certainty to an increasingly volatile global environment. He added that such stability would be particularly important in areas including the economy, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. Lalic also emphasized that improved China–U.S. relations are highly significant for his country and for advancing Belt and Road cooperation.
German media commentator Friedrich said the meeting between the Chinese and American leaders had delivered an “extremely positive signal” to the world. In his view, the talks would encourage those seeking mutually beneficial outcomes instead of zero-sum confrontation, while also strengthening progressive forces around the globe.
Ismail Debech, Chairman of the Algeria–China Friendship Association, noted that President Xi Jinping has repeatedly described China–U.S. relations as the world’s most important bilateral relationship. He said maintaining overall stability in ties between the two major powers and enhancing dialogue and communication would contribute positively to global stability and development.
Debech further remarked that President Xi has consistently advocated for shared global prosperity, sustainable development and greater exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, all of which are increasingly important in today’s interconnected world.
