International: Invited by the French government, Zhang Guoqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, participated via video link on Thursday in the “Global Convergence for Growth Summit” held in France and delivered a speech.

Zhang Guoqing said that the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative, and Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping have provided important guidance and inspiration for world peace and development.

He stressed the need to prioritise development, further improve global governance systems, and ensure inclusive growth in the global economy.

He further stated that countries should uphold openness and cooperation, objectively assess their comparative advantages, foster a free and facilitated trade environment, and practice genuine multilateralism.

Zhang emphasised that China will firmly continue to expand high-standard opening-up and share development opportunities with other countries, thereby injecting greater certainty, stability, and positive energy into the global economy.
