Jahanara Parveen, the newly appointed Executive Engineer of Tangail District, has protested against the news published on July 20 under two separate headlines in the print version of the Daily Rupali Bangladesh newspaper and Asia Post Digital.

Claiming that the published news is fabricated, purposefully motivated, fabricated and baseless, she said in the protest letter, "This news has been published intentionally at the instigation of some individuals to defame me."

This has greatly tarnished the reputation of me, the department and the current government. In the protest letter, she said, I have recently been ordered as the Executive Engineer of Tangail District by the order of the higher authorities. Even as a female officer, I have the right to get it. During my service, I have been performing the duties entrusted to me with honesty and devotion to the satisfaction of the authorities in the Executive Engineer`s Office of Jamalpur, Sherpur District and even as a Senior Assistant Engineer in Tangail District. It is to be noted that I am a citizen of Tangail District by birth. I have a heart-to-heart relationship with the soil and people of Tangail District. Even I have experience and extensive knowledge about the implementation of development works in Tangail. After I was recently promoted as the Executive Engineer of Tangail District and ordered to work in this district, a former Executive Engineer got angry with me and spread false information on various media including Facebook to tarnish the image of me, the department and the current government and to achieve his own interests. It is worth noting that I served with the former Executive Engineer for about 14 months until 12/07/2026.
During this time, he could not prove any mistake or inform my department. On 16/07/2026, I was assigned as Executive Engineer in Tangail. And on the same day, former Executive Engineer Mr. Kamruzzaman gave orders to join the headquarters of KLG ED. Even the news mentioned that my husband is involved in contracting work, which has no specific information and evidence. As a member of the tender evaluation committee to complete the government procurement work, I worked properly and in the case of tender, the evaluation committee chairman Executive Engineer signed and took a decision and recommended it to the concerned authorities for approval.
The information published in this regard is not correct and completely false. Also, the issue of my using a government car for personal work is false and baseless. In the past, no contractor or higher authority of Tangail district has expressed dissatisfaction with me. The former executive engineer also mentioned that the political influence that I have exerted is completely false, fabricated and baseless and purposefully motivated. Such false information from a senior executive engineer that has been spread against me is not desirable at all. If there were any irregularities against me, he could have summoned me for an apology and informed the higher officials officially. Since there is no such allegation against me, completely false, fabricated and fabricated news has been spread against me to various people including social media with a purpose.

I protest this news by expressing deep condemnation and anger.
