Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has arrived in Matarbari of Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar. He reached Matarbari at around 10:45am on Sunday (August 9).

Earlier, the Prime Minister left Tejgaon Airport in Dhaka at 9:15am for Maheshkhali. The matter was confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Rumon.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office schedule, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inspect the Matarbari Deep-Sea Port, the coal-fired power project, and the activities of the Maheshkhali Integrated Development Authority (MIDA) during his visit to Matarbari.

After completing his Matarbari engagements, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend a rehabilitation programme for people affected by the recent floods at the field of West Banshkhali High School and College in Baharchhara Union of Banshkhali Upazila, Chattogram.

According to the schedule, the Prime Minister is expected to land at the Pehelgazi Dighi field in Fatikchhari Upazila at around 1:30pm. From there, he will visit Al-Jamiatul Islamia Azizul Uloom Babunagar Madrasa and pay a courtesy call on Allama Shah Muhibbullah Babunagari.

He is also scheduled to visit the grave of the late Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi and offer prayers there. At around 3:45pm, the Prime Minister is scheduled to take a break at the District Council Dak Bungalow in Hathazari.

Later, at 5:00pm, he is scheduled to attend a rehabilitation programme for flood-affected people at Hathazari Government College field.

In the evening, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to attend an organisational meeting at the auditorium of Radisson Blu Hotel in Chattogram.

After completing the day’s engagements, he is expected to leave Chattogram for Dhaka at night.
