Bangladesh Condemns Houthi Attack on Riyadh Airport That Killed Two Bangladeshis
  Date : 11-10-2026

Desk Report: Bangladesh has strongly condemned the deadly Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh that claimed the lives of two Bangladeshi nationals and left numerous others injured, many of them critically.

In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, Bangladesh expressed its unequivocal condemnation of the attack, which took place on October 10 and caused casualties among civilians.

The Bangladesh mission in Riyadh is maintaining contact with the Saudi authorities to obtain details about the deceased and injured Bangladeshi nationals and to facilitate necessary assistance for those affected, the ministry said.

Expressing profound sorrow over the loss of lives, Bangladesh extended its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, including those of the Bangladeshi victims. It also prayed for the swift and full recovery of all those injured in the attack.

The government stressed that attacks endangering civilian lives and targeting civilian infrastructure are unacceptable and must cease immediately.

Reaffirming Bangladesh’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia, the ministry said the country stands firmly with the government and the people of the Kingdom in the face of the attack.

Bangladesh also called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and a peaceful resolution of the ongoing crisis through dialogue and diplomacy.

The ministry emphasised that resolving the crisis peacefully is essential to safeguarding regional peace, security and stability.

The deaths of the two Bangladeshis have added to the human toll of the attack, underscoring the risks faced by civilians amid escalating regional hostilities. The government’s ongoing contact with Saudi authorities is expected to help clarify the identities and circumstances of the victims and ensure appropriate support for affected Bangladeshis and their families.
