China maintains a leading global position in the velocity of artificial intelligence development and practical industrial deployment. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the nation will broaden the scope of its "AI+" initiative and accelerate application scenarios across diverse economic sectors, according to a press briefing convened on Tuesday (November 3) by China`s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
Officials disclosed at the briefing that China has established more than 10,000 advanced smart manufacturing facilities across the industrial sector. In agriculture, AI adoption has driven a marked reduction in the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers while optimizing precision farmland management.
Within the service sector, artificial intelligence is widely integrated into finance, logistics, and international trade. Autonomous intelligent agents are handling complex end-to-end workflows, including contract verification, customs clearance declarations, tax compliance filings, and insurance claims assessment—catalyzing innovative business formats and modern commercial models.
Furthermore, artificial intelligence has lowered diagnostic costs and lowered barrier thresholds across public healthcare. Over 8,000 primary healthcare institutions across China have integrated cloud-based AI medical imaging services, elevating disease screening speed and clinical diagnostic efficiency.
