Press conference held at the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka on Wednesday.
To ensure the safe passage of Bangladeshi vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, Dhaka must coordinate with Tehran. Speaking at a press conference held at the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka on Wednesday (November 4), Iranian Ambassador Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi stated that vessels must adhere to Tehran’s directives while navigating the Strait.
He remarked, "No nation can safely transport fuel through this strategic waterway without coordinating with Iranian authorities."
He emphasized, "To pass through the Strait of Hormuz, one must strictly follow the guidelines set by Iran."
He also mentioned that he is working to ensure the safe passage of fuel-carrying vessels for Bangladesh.
When asked whether any Bangladeshi vessel had already passed through the Strait, the Ambassador replied, "This is confidential information, known only to the relevant officials."
Regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, he stated, "Iran, Qatar, and Oman have plans in place. However, the primary conditions are the lifting of the U.S. naval blockade against Iran and a guarantee that there will be no further attacks."
Jalil Rahimi further added, "If the Rohingya Muslims take a stand against the United States and Israel, Iran will support them."
Expressing skepticism regarding the possibility of negotiations with Washington, he warned of the potential for a Third World War, stating, "Iran is prepared for any conflict."
The Ambassador issued a stern warning: "Should a nuclear attack be launched against Iran, the United States and Israel will face an equivalent response."
