No Alternative to Tarique Rahman in Establishing Citizens’ Rights — Aminul Haque

Kamrul Hasan:
Former national football team captain, BNP Central Executive Committee’s Sports Secretary, Convener of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP, and BNP candidate for Dhaka-16 constituency, Aminul Haque, said that there is no alternative to BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in ensuring citizens’ rights, including maintaining peace and order in the country, resolving the ongoing crisis, and guaranteeing people’s fundamental rights to education, healthcare, food, clothing, shelter, and justice.

He made the remarks as the chief guest on Wednesday evening while addressing a views-exchange meeting organized by the Urdu-speaking community at ADC Camp, Section-11/A, Avenue-01 in the capital. The program was attended by leaders and activists of BNP’s central and Dhaka North branches, along with leaders of different affiliated organizations, local dignitaries, and a large number of camp residents.

Aminul Haque said, “The long-standing aspirations of the people can only be fulfilled by ensuring their basic rights in daily life. BNP is the only refuge for the deprived in establishing their rights. Tarique Rahman’s guidance in the BNP-student-public movement to protect the oppressed people from the grip of autocracy will remain unforgettable. It is due to his strong leadership and efforts that we have achieved a Bangladesh free from fascism. To preserve this achievement, we must establish fundamental rights. Only then will Bangladesh become the nation envisioned by martyred President Ziaur Rahman.”

He further said, “We must play an active role in fulfilling the dream of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and implementing the 31-point reform plan declared by Tarique Rahman to rebuild the state structure. For this, it is essential to strengthen the organizational structure and ensure the victory of the ‘sheaf of paddy’ (BNP’s election symbol) through united efforts.”

Seeking prayers for the well-being of Begum Khaleda Zia and the long life of Tarique Rahman, he urged everyone present to remember them in their prayers.

The meeting also emphasized addressing the long-standing hardships of the Urdu-speaking community, including education, healthcare, housing development, and employment opportunities. Aminul Haque said, “The Urdu-speaking people are citizens of this country. BNP has always been ready to take necessary measures to improve their basic rights and living standards. Under the guidance of Tarique Rahman, BNP has consistently worked to ensure the rights of every community regardless of race, religion, or background. Our party leaders and activists are working across the country to implement this vision.”

Local residents expressed optimism and inspiration, saying that Aminul Haque’s regular communication and support encouraged them. A young participant said, “Aminul Haque always stands by us. The people of this camp have been neglected for a long time. Now we can see new hope.”

Through such meetings, BNP leaders are directly hearing people’s problems and taking initiatives for solutions, which has created positive expectations among the locals.
