  Auto-rickshaw driver shot in Ctg

An auto-rickshaw driver was injured after being shot by unidentified assailants at Kuwaish Chalitatali area in Chattogram district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Md Idris Ali, 37, a resident of Bahaddarhat Kancha Bazar area.

According to law enforcers, Idris Ali was driving his auto-rickshaw in the Chalitatali area when unidentified assailants opened fire at around 1:45 PM. He was shot in the knee and collapsed on the road.

Later, locals rescued Idris and brought him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where his treatment is ongoing.

Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Camp in-charge Nurul Alam Ashik confirmed the incident.

The incident comes after a fatal shooting in the same area last night, when Sarwar Hossain Babla was killed as assailants opened fire during an election campaign rally for BNP candidate Ershad Ullah.
