The Country Will Be Prosperous and Developed Only Through the Victory of the Sheaf of Paddy : Rita

Kamrul Hasan : To build a just state through the implementation of the 31-point reform plan aimed at protecting independence, the constitution, and democracy, a united public opinion must be formed to ensure the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy (BNP’s election symbol). Only this victory can make the country developed and prosperous — said Afroza Khanam Rita, Member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council, Convener of Manikganj District BNP, Chairperson of Munnu Group of Industries, and BNP-nominated candidate for Manikganj-3 constituency.

She made these remarks while addressing as the chief guest at a reception, annual award ceremony, and cultural program organized to honor Kobi Rezauddin Stalin, Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, at the Manikganj Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Saturday afternoon.

The event was presided over by Engineer Zakir Hossain, Advisor to the Parliament. Among others present were Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, a noted Nazrul researcher; Public Prosecutor Nurataj Alam Bahar; senior lawyer Zahir Alam Khan Lodi; President of Manikganj Developers Association Golam Kibria Said; District BNP Convening Committee members Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Habu and Asaduzzaman Khan Dolon; President of Manikganj Press Club Jahangir Alam Biswas; President of Alokito Manikganj Sahitya Sangha Habil Uddin; Deputy Chief Waste Management Officer of Dhaka North City Corporation Mofizur Rahman Bhuiyan; JASAS Central Committee member Majharul Islam Khan Payel; Joint Conveners of District Jubo Dal Md. Masud Parvez; District Swechchhasebak Dal Convener Advocate Jinnah Khan; JASAS District Member Secretary Shamim Biswas; Senior Joint Convener Ohidul Islam Biswas Lotus; General Secretary of Manikganj Literary and Cultural Council Awlad Hossain; District Chhatra Dal President Abdul Khalek Shuvo and General Secretary Sirajur Rahman Khan Sajib, along with leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies.

Afroza Khanam Rita said, “The BNP’s main objective is to protect the country’s sovereignty, establish people’s fundamental rights, and strengthen the organization under the guidance of Deshnayak Tareq Rahman. The commitment to rebuild the state structure can only be achieved through the effective implementation of the 31-point program.”

She further stated, “Under the visionary leadership of Deshnayak Tareq Rahman, the joint movement of BNP and the people has brought an end to autocracy. Now, it is time to transform the achievements of that movement into sustainable development. National reconstruction is possible only by upholding the ideals and patriotism of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.”

Rita added, “As part of fulfilling the people’s long 17-year aspiration, the interim government has decided to hold the national election in February 2026. However, a certain group is conspiring to foil the election in the name of the ‘PR system.’ These evil forces must be resisted in unity for the welfare of the nation.”

She urged party leaders and activists to play an active role in ensuring the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy and encouraged women to take a more proactive role in politics. She also sought prayers for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and for the good health and long life of Deshnayak Tareq Rahman, as well as for the welfare of the country.

At the end of the event, guests distributed prizes among the winners of various cultural competitions organized by the Manikganj Literary and Cultural Council. Artists from Shilpakala Academy and JASAS performed songs, dances, and recitations, which were enjoyed by a large audience.

Later, Afroza Khanam Rita visited a free medical camp organized by the Munnu Welfare Trust at the premises of Matta High School in Manikganj Municipality.
