Two women killed in Satkhira road accident

Two women were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Satkhira`s Ashashuni upazila on Friday (Feb 23) morning.

The accident happened in Nawapara area around 9 am.

The deceased were Fazila Khatun, hailed from Paikgachha upazila in Khulna, and Asia Begum, from Laksikhola village of the same upazila.

Asashuni Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Biswajit Kumar confirmed the matter.

He said quoting eyewitnesses that the deceased were going towards Satkhira town by an easy bike in the morning. When it reached in that area, a pick-up van coming from the opposite direction ran over the easy bike. The two women died on the spot.

The bodies have been sent to Satkhira morgue for autopsy, he added.
