Nine die, 465 hospitalised with dengue

Nine people died of dengue patient while 915 were hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), now the death toll is 210.

Of the deceased, five deaths were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation, two in Barishal division, one in Chattogram division and one in Dhaka North City Corporation.

Among the new patients, 197 were hospitalised in Chattogram division, while 175 were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka North City Corporation and 156 were in Dhaka South City Corporation.

This year, the total number of cases rose to 41, 810 since January 1, 2024, the statement added.

A total of 780 patients were discharged from hospital and 37,952 were released from January 1 to till October 12.
Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue cases.
