Tk 30 lakh to be given to each family of martyrs: Mahfuz

A decision has been taken to provide Tk 30 lakh to each family of the martyrs of student movement, said Chief Adviser`s special assistant Mahfuz Alam.

Addressing a press briefing at Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday (October 17), he disclosed about the decision.

Mahfuz Alam said decision was taken to provide Tk 30 lakh to each of the families of martyred in the student movement.

Forest, Environment and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan was present at the briefing.

Earlier, July Shaheed Smrity Foundation was formed to proviode medical treatment to the injured and support the martyred families. Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus us the head of this 7-member foundation, while martyred Mugdha`s brother Snigdha is the general secretary of it.

Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has donated Tk 100 crore grant to the foundation from the government`s Relief and Welfare Fund. Decision was also taken to provide Tk 5 lakh cash support to each of the families of the martyrs.
