“Establishing peace and stability in Rakhine state is crucial to ensure safe and dignified return of Rohingyas. We are working to this end…we are taking all diplomatic efforts,” he told a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.

Shafiqul iterated that the government is working to ensure voluntarily and dignified return of Rohingyas and peaceful coexistence of Rohingyas and local people in Myanmar.

Replying to a query about reforms in the Election Commission (EC), he said once the government signs a broader agreement with the political parties, and then the EC will implement the reform proposals accepted by the political parties.
