Eight killed in horrific road accident in Phulpur

Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur: 8 people were killed in a bus-Mahindra collision in Phulpur, Mymensingh. The accident occurred on the Haluaghat-Mymensingh highway near the Courier Bridge in Phulpur Municipality around 8 pm on Friday.

A Shyamoli Bangla bus leaving from Haluaghat hit a passenger Mahindra, killing 5 people on the spot. After the injured were taken to the Upazila Hospital, 1 died and 2 more died later at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. 20 people were injured in the accident. At that time, the angry crowd set the bus on fire. Later, fire service personnel arrived and brought the fire under control. Police, army and fire service personnel worked to control the situation. Phulpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sadia Islam Seema and Phulpur Police Station OC Mohammad Abdul Hadi visited the immediate scene. So far, the identities of 5 of the deceased have been identified.
