Asif joins in symbolic marathon to mark July Uprising Day
  Date : 19-07-2025

Online Report : To commemorate the historic July–August student and people`s uprising, the Ministry of Youth and Sports organized a symbolic marathon in Dhaka on Friday morning.

The event, held at the Old Trade Fair Ground in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, brought together participants from diverse age groups in a spirited show of unity and remembrance.

Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Ministry, joined the run alongside other participants. His involvement was confirmed via a post on his verified Facebook page, where he described the marathon as a tribute to the sacrifices made during one of Bangladesh’s pivotal democratic movements.

“Honored to run with our youth in memory of the July–August Uprising—a powerful chapter in our nation’s fight for justice,” he wrote.

The marathon was conducted peacefully, with participants expressing enthusiasm and appreciation for the initiative. Many young runners welcomed the program, calling it an engaging way to connect with history and community.

The July–August Uprising is regarded as a crucial moment in Bangladesh’s political struggle, during which students and the public rose against authoritarian rule. This symbolic event, organized by the ministry, aimed to instill in the younger generation a deeper awareness of the country’s democratic roots and the enduring power of collective action.
