DUCSU polls won’t affect JUCSU elections: JCD-backed VP candidate
  Date : 11-09-2025

Sheikh Sadi Hasan, the Vice President (VP) candidate backed by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), has said that the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections will have no impact on the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) polls.

He stated, “Chhatra Shibir has been plotting to disrupt the voting environment at Jahangirnagar University. We have seen thousands of complaints against Shibir at Dhaka University, including vote tampering and advance ballot casting. Whatever happened at DUCSU will in no way affect the JUCSU elections.”

Speaking to journalists after casting his vote at Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall on Thursday (11 September), Sheikh Sadi Hasan added, “I have repeatedly said it, and I still say it: Jahangirnagar University is unique in every way. Our students grow with independent thinking and a progressive mindset. They will never give shelter to such fanatic and defeated forces here. They never have. In the 1990s elections, Chhatra Dal achieved an absolute victory in all JUCSU posts.”
