The Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO), Dr. Salim M. Al Malik, expressed admiration for Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and his globally influential initiatives during a meeting at the State Guest House Jamuna on Monday.
Dr. Malik requested permission to incorporate Professor Yunus’s Three Zero theory—Zero Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero Net Carbon Emissions—into ISESCO’s strategic framework for youth, education, and environmental initiatives.
“I first learned about you and the Grameen Bank when I was a medical student,” Dr. Malik recalled. “Your Three Zero theory has influenced everything from banking to sports to environmental discourse. It is truly inspiring.”
He also voiced strong support for the chief adviser’s reform agenda and the interim government’s vision for a transformed Bangladesh. “Since arriving, I have met several advisers and learned about your national reform plans. You have my full support,” he affirmed.
Dr. Malik highlighted ISESCO’s current programmes, noting, “We assist countries in developing food waste management systems. Nations like Brunei, Algeria, and Nigeria have already benefited from entrepreneurship initiatives we helped transform into social business models.”
In response, Prof. Yunus praised ISESCO’s efforts in education and sustainability and welcomed potential collaboration to empower youth and expand innovative social business solutions across member states.
Education Adviser Professor C. R. Abrar was also present at the meeting.
