Bangladesh hold Jordan to 1-1 draw in AFC qualifiers
  Date : 14-10-2025

Despite an impressive start, Bangladesh U-17 women’s football team had to settle for a 1-1 draw against higher-ranked Jordan in their AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup qualifying match at the Aqaba Stadium in Jordan on Monday night.

Bangladesh made a dream start when Sauravi Akanda Prity found the net in just the 3rd minute, giving the visitors an early lead. The young Tigresses defended bravely and held onto their advantage for most of the match.

However, Jordan’s Mira Jarar broke Bangladeshi hearts in the 89th minute, scoring the equalizer to ensure a share of the spoils and deny Bangladesh all three points.

Bangladesh will play their final group match against Chinese Taipei on October 17, with only the group winners qualifying for the main stage of next year’s AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup.

Bangladesh Squad: Meghla Rani, Shiuly Roy, Arifa Akter, Sorovi Akter, Arpita (captain), Kranuching Marma, Mamoni Chakma, Umma Kulshum, Alpi Akter, Thuinuye Marma, Fatema Akter, Protima Akter, Puja Chakma, Mst Almina, Reya, Mst Momita Khatun, Mishu Rani, Amena Khatun, Purnima Marma, Sauravi Akanda Prity, Mst Resme Akter, Yearzan Begum, Ishita Tripura.
