Police recovered the bodies of a couple from the home of second alley, 3rd Road, East North Badda in Dhaka on Sunday, raising questions about whether it was a murder or suicide.

The deceased, identified as 30-year-old Saiful Islam, a security guard, and his wife Shakila, who worked as a cook in the same house.

Badda police station officer-in-charge Habibur Rahman said that residents alerted authorities in the morning after noticing a foul odor from the house.

Being informed, a team of police recovered the bodies and sent them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

A case was filed with the police station in this connection, the OC added.

The incident might have occurred after October 25, but the exact cause of death has yet to be confirmed, the OC added.
