International Desk: Chinese President Xi Jinping has recently sent a reply letter to teachers and students from a joint U.S. youth educational exchange delegation.
In his letter, President Xi expressed his pleasure that the teachers and students had enjoyed a memorable and enriching visit to China. “I am delighted to learn that members of the exchange delegation had a joyful stay in China and gained valuable experiences during their visit. I could also feel your sincere affection for and deep interest in Chinese culture,” he wrote.
President Xi noted that the hope of China–U.S. relations lies with the people, and its future depends on the younger generation. Since the launch of the initiative inviting 50,000 young Americans to visit China for study and exchange programs over five years, more than 40,000 U.S. youths have already participated enthusiastically. The program has opened a window for them to better understand the real China and has built a bridge of friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
These facts, he emphasized, clearly demonstrate that continuing friendly exchanges and cooperation reflects the shared aspiration of the Chinese and American peoples. He expressed hope that more young Americans would actively engage in strengthening bilateral friendship, serve as a “new generation of ambassadors” for China–U.S. relations, and contribute further to cultural exchanges and the steady development of bilateral ties.
Earlier, teachers and students from the U.S. youth educational exchange delegation who had visited China wrote a letter to President Xi, sharing their experiences from their trip in October 2025. They also expressed gratitude for President Xi’s initiative to invite 50,000 young Americans to China within five years, noting that the program has created invaluable opportunities to enhance mutual understanding between young people from both countries.
