BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the party has 100 per cent confidence in the current Election Commission (EC).

``The party believes the EC is capable of conducting the upcoming national polls with competence,`` Fakhrul made the remarks on Monday while speaking to reporters after paying tribute at the mausoleum of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.

``BNP expects that the Election Commission will arrange fair polls based on their qualification. We have seen that the Commission is working more or less with the required competence.``
